I was waiting for my mom to meet me at the beach when I heard it- it really sounds like it's laughing. It was definitely not a regular herring gull, which made me take notice. I caught her before she left the house and asked her to bring my camera. For most birders, a laughing gull is not too exciting, but for me it was.

It's exciting for me, too! I just saw my first one, and I think they look and sound really cool. Also, those are great pictures! Good job!
ReplyDelete@Sue- Oh good- I'm glad you got to see one too! Exactly- I love hearing their call. It's different. You should see my mom with the regular Herring Gulls at the beach- she loves talking to them and sharing her chips.
